July 4th Fun

We started off our 4th with a fun trip to the Zoo!

Rhys loves riding on daddy's shoulder!

So glad that Tim's dad, "Bdad," was able to join us!

 Rhett with the hippos....his favorite!

After a fun morning, we headed home for naps.  As soon as R&R woke up, we went to Bulverde to spend the evening with some good friends, Tim and Donna Moore.

The twins loved exploring out in the country.  I took a bag of toys for them, but they much preferred to play in the dirt, rocks, and with the dogs.  Rhys did bring her doll stroller (and Pig, of course) and Rhett had his wagon.  This was all we needed.

R&R love Will (or "Wheeeeeeeelllll") and really enjoyed listening to him play the banjo after dinner.

Wes (or "Man" as Rhys calls him) took Rhett on a ride.

We had such a fun time.  Someone was worn out.

We decided not to stay for fireworks, and loaded the kids up and headed home right at about dark.  On our drive home, we were able to see several firework shows going on around San Antonio.  Rhett kept shouting "more splash wah-wah!" We think he thought each firework was a big splash in the sky!  Ha! We practiced saying fireworks, and love the way they say it now, "fire-ra-works" in three wonderful syllables.  They loved watching the bright lights, but did not like the loud sounds.  Watching from the van was just perfect.

Happy 4th Everyone!

Fire Station Visit

Our play group headed over to the Geronimo Village Volunteer Fire Station last week.  The kids had a great time!

I love this picture of Rhett sitting in the truck.  He was so excited.

The firefighters were awesome with the kids.  One of them pulled out a big hose and let the kids take turns spraying the water.  Of course, this was their favorite part.

S couldn't keep from touching the water!

love G's smile!

Most of the kids loved it, but Rhys was definitely not into it.  As soon as we got there, she became clingy, whiny, and generally unhappy.  This picture says it all...

I really wanted a good picture of R&R sitting on the front of the fire truck, but this was all I got.

Here is our best group shot.

None of the kids are looking at the camera, but aren't they cute?

Kids and mommies!

As we left, the firefighters ran the siren for the kids to hear.  If you want to take your kids to visit a fire station, they do encourage visits.  We will definitely be going back again!
