We spent this Easter weekend at home, just our little family, and it was wonderful! Saturday we all took long naps, made a trip to Walmart, and went to the park.
After the babies went to bed, the Easter Bunny stopped by and filled their baskets with goodies.
That sweet bunny even left a surprise for mommy and daddy, too! I wasn't going to add this in, but it is too funny not to share....we went to Walmart to pick up a couple of things, and Tim turns our basket down the Easter candy aisle....he said we needed to pick out chocolate bunnies. He was very serious and started looking around. I told him that I really didn't want the babies to have chocolate, and then he told me that they were for us. Well, he didn't have to tell me twice. I found my Reese's bunny in about 5 seconds and it was in the cart. Tim looked at ALL the choices, several times, and then picked his. (see pic below) I was teasing him because out of all the bunnies they had, he picked this little guy. I think we just started a new tradition....picking out our own chocolate bunnies!
Sunday morning we were blessed to be able to worship with our church family. Even Rhett and Rhys had a great time at church and did not want to leave their class when we went to pick them up! I love worshipping on Easter because it reminds me of God's power. Just one year ago, on Easter Sunday, we sat around my sweet daddy's hospital bed and had our own worship service, one I will never forget. And today, I was reminded once again, that death has no victory. Christ is risen and is alive. What a mighty God we serve!
We came home from church and Tim made fajitas for lunch and I think Rhett ate just as much as I did. :)
After naps we headed out to take some bluebonnet pictures. We had seen a field covered in them just last weekend, but were a little disappointed when we got there as most of the bluebonnets were gone already.
Tim is such a great photographer, though, and was able to get some good pictures. The sun was really bright and they were so distracted with all of the flowers, bugs, dirt, etc. and so it was hard to get them to look at the camera. Oh, and Rhett kept eating the flowers! He would pull off a petal, taste it, spit it out, and then do it again. We couldn't even get him to look at the camera at all! It was fun to watch them, and I am so glad that we decided to do it. Here are just a few of my favorites.
my favorite!
